Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
The Journal of Indonesian Constitution and Administrative Law (JICAL) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity throughout the scholarly publication process. This journal adheres to the ethical guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The following outlines the responsibilities of all parties involved in the publication process:
1. Authors’ Responsibilities
- Originality: Authors must submit original work that is free from plagiarism.
- Citation and Referencing: All sources used in the manuscript must be properly cited and accurately referenced.
- Authorship: All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research must be listed as authors.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that may influence the research or interpretation of results.
- Multiple or Concurrent Submission: Manuscripts must not be submitted simultaneously to more than one journal.
2. Editors’ Responsibilities
- Fairness and Objectivity: Editors evaluate manuscripts solely on the basis of their scholarly merit, without discrimination.
- Confidentiality: Information regarding submitted manuscripts is kept confidential and disclosed only to those directly involved in the publication process (authors, reviewers, and publisher).
- Publication Decisions: Editorial decisions to accept or reject a manuscript are based on reviewers’ evaluations and the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s focus and scope.
3. Reviewers’ Responsibilities
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat all manuscripts under review as confidential documents.
- Constructive Feedback: Reviewers are expected to provide objective and constructive comments to improve the quality of the manuscript.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted impartially, without personal bias against the authors.
- Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers must inform the editor of any potential conflicts of interest that could affect their objectivity.
4. Prevention of Ethical Misconduct
- Plagiarism: JICAL employs plagiarism detection software to screen manuscripts prior to the peer-review process.
- Data Fabrication and Falsification: Manuscripts found to involve data manipulation, fabrication, or falsification will be rejected or retracted.
5. Retraction Policy
Articles may be retracted if serious ethical violations are identified, including plagiarism or data manipulation. A formal retraction notice will be published to maintain transparency and uphold the integrity of the scholarly record.
